MUSTARD CUTS IT AT PUNCHESTOWN
Our homebred mare CUT THE MUSTARD won the second race at Punchestown today.
She won two bumpers in France for us last season, before being sold to Ireland. She disappointed in her first two runs over hurdles, mainly due to very poor jumping. Her jumping showed some improvement today, so she should be able to go on from here.
This is her winning the Finale du challenge AQPS at Nantes (photo)
GOOD DAY AT THE OFFICE
Dali Mail, sold by us as a yearling, hacked up in the bumper at Kelso, by a very wide margin today, we also sold his 1/2 brother, Chez Castel Mail, who also won his bumper. We have another very nice 2 year old 1/2 brother to him by Sinndar.
By coincidence, another horse we sold as a yearling who went over on the same lorry as Dali Mail, called Dlauro was sold today for €410,000 euros to Joseph O’Brien. Dlauro topped the sale & with the second highest price ever achieved for a point to pointer.
Goes from the Front
Camron de Chaillac made all to win at Sedgefield today, he is a very tough sort who gives all & is by Laverock the same sire as Black Corton.
Two places
Two of our ex “pupils” ran yesterday, both running excellent races by getting placed.
SAINTE LADYLIME was second at Ascot in the GRADE 2 mare’s race. Although never threatening to win she would have finished a great deal closer to the winner if she had jumped fluently. She lost many lengths but unfortunately this has been a reoccurring theme in all of her races.
CUNEO ran a very good race to finish third in the second race at Navan for Henry De Bromhead & Gigginstown Stud. It was only his second start & he showed marked improvement on his first run & galloped on stoutly in the difficult conditions. He should make his mark in the future over fences, which he is bred to do being by KAPGARDE out of a mare from a good AQPS family.
Mixboy wins at Musselburgh today
Camron de Chaillac
A very gutsy performance today by Camron to win at Taunton today considering he had a very tough race on Boxing Day in the heavy.
TAKE IT TO THE MAX
SAO MAXENCE made a very pleasing winning debut today in the bumper at Ayr. We sold him to Jill and John Dodd as a three year old. By Saint Des Saints, a top French jumps sire, out of our mare Primadona who comes from a very tough winning family. Primadona has a yearling gelding by Walk in the Park and a filly foal by Coastal Path. Next year she will be covered by No Risk at All.
BULLION another of our homebreds was also making his debut in the same race and ran a very creditable third. His mother Ryde has a two year old filly and a yearling gelding both by Walk in the Park. Her three year old granddaughter made top price this November at Arqana when selling for €310k. This year Ryde is in foal to Gris de Gris and is due to visit Vision D’Etat.
Two out of two!
Aristo du Plessis wins his second in a row this season at Wetherby in the 1.55 today. Well done to all connections.
Another win
Uno Valoroso made all to win at Bangor today, well done to all connections.
